Again, is this view of the dining hall correctly attributed
to circa 1940? Note how the scroll above the fireplace has
disappeared from the previous
photograph. In its place there seems to be a roll of honour*
(First World War?).
In my day, there was a sort on annexe or extension in the
left hand corner, which had a dumb waiter down to the kitchen.
Anyone out there with more modern photographs of the dining
hall? Don't want to get too bogged down in detail here, but
it would be interesting to track some of the changes.
After all, of all the personal memories associated with Harlow
College, surely some of the best have to be centered around
food! In spite of the school dinner syndrome!
